Q26

【Application】What type of objects and application scenarios is it suitable for detecting?

Ans

It is suitable for detecting objects passing through confined spaces, for example:
Production lines: Presence detection, counting, and positioning of small parts, bottle caps, labels, vials, PCBs, films, yarns, etc.
Packaging / printing / textile: Paper or fabric break detection, mark positioning.
Medical devices: Test-tube counting and tray-position detection in biochemical or urine analyzers.
Access control / automatic doors: Anti-pinch or door-position detection.

Q27

【Application】How do I choose the right slot width and mounting distance?

Ans

Slot width: Choose a slot width 2–3 mm larger than the thickness of the detected object—enough to fully block the light, but not so large that it may affect its sensitivity. For example, to detect a 3 mm-thick workpiece, a slot width around 5 mm is appropriate.
Mounting distance: The slot depth is usually fixed; simply ensure the object can fully enter the slot and interrupt the beam. During installation, the object should pass centered in the slot to avoid misalignment.

Q28

【Application】What are the key points to consider during installation?

Ans

Secure mounting: Avoid vibration that could shift the optical path.
Keep clean: Regularly clean the slot opening to prevent oil, dust, or debris from affecting the light path.
Avoid strong light: Do not install the sensor where it will be exposed to direct sunlight or intense lighting.
Separate wiring: Route sensor cables away from high-power equipment (motors, inverters). Use shielded cable and proper grounding if necessary to improve noise immunity.

Q29

【Application】Can it be used in harsh environments such as high temperature, dust, or humidity?

Ans

Slot-type photoelectric sensors are available in various protection ratings (e.g., IP50, IP65, IP67) to suit different environments.
High dust / water splash: Choose a model rated IP65 or higher.
High temperature / severe conditions: Select a model with the corresponding operating temperature range (e.g., -25°C to +70°C or wider) and consider corrosion-resistant materials.
Always refer to the environmental specifications in the product manual for final selection.
